Gallery Hostel is situated in downtown Oporto, between art districtand nightlife at Miguel Bombarda Street. This privileged area convinces with its gourmet restaurants, modern bars, art galleries, design boutiques, stylists, and vintage shops.
It is a trendy and vibrant area with a never ending flow of activity. It is certainly the ideal place to see another face of Oporto. In order to fully enjoy your stay, our friendly staff takes you to free walking Tours around some of Porto’s iconic places and shows you the secrets of its district.
Oporto’s monuments, museums and gardens are at a close walking distance to the Hostel. We will be happy to recommend you the best places.

Gallery Hostel characterizes the new concept of a luxury hostel, where best service, facilities and cleanliness are top priority along with friendliness and familiar atmosphere.
Gallery Hostel goes even beyond by fusing the hostel concept with an own Art Gallery and contributes with its bi-monthly changing art exhibitions, concerts and other cultural and artistic initiatives to the whole community.

The environment is important to us! Our newest project “We Care” is our effort to protect the environment through different green initiatives such as recycling, solar water heating and much more:
Recycling
the Hostel is committed to focus on green initiatives as Reducing, Reusing and Recycling as much as possible. We recycle glass, paper, cardboard, plastic, batteries, light bulbs, oil, cork & electronics.
Solar Water Heating
Our installation of the (SWH) system comprises 30m2 of solar collectors and two 750 liter storage cylinders. By implementing this renewable energy, we estimate an economic saving of 30-40% and an environmental benefit of 4,5 tonnes of CO2 emissions avoided per annum.
Walking-Tours
Our staff takes our guests by foot around the city of Porto and shows its secrets for free.
Organic & Local Products
We serve organically certified Red & Port Wine in our bar and prepare our free breakfast and homemade dinners with local products.
Vegetarian Option
On request, we prepare a vegetarian meal on our daily dinners for vegetarians.
Saving Water & Energy
We use reduced water pressure and water our plants only after dawn. More than 90% of our lamps have energy saving light bulbs.
Towels
We change towels only on request to save water, electricity and detergent.
Bike-Rental
We provide bikes for rent to discover the city and its surroundings in a sustainable way.
Regular Maintenance
We check our infrastructure regularly and clean our filters of AC’s and kitchen monthly.
Paper
We reduce, reuse and recycle as much of our ISO 14001 certified paper as possible.
Recreation Areas
Porto has many beautiful gardens and parks, we provide our guests with information about the best green areas in the city and its surroundings.
Non-Smoking
All our rooms and inside common areas are non-smoking. You smoke? There is a winter garden where it is allowed.
